Meeting Minutes: January 2011

PROGRAM: Election of Officers and Awards Program
   
BUSINESS MEETING President John Barrett called the meeting to order at 1:02 P.M.  93 members and guests were present.  Todd called for the introduction of Past Presidents, Gold Card Members, Associate Members, current Officers, Committee Chairs, Board and guests.
   
COMMITTEE REPORTS: Minutes – Posted on the website, minutes were approved.

Treasurer’s Report  for December was approved.

Membership –   2nd reading for Terry Wolf Park Ridge Park District

Moment of Silence in Remembrance of past members.
   
AWARDS Matt Gaynor announced the following SCHOLARSHIP recipients:
   Kim Hansen Batavia Park District
   Jesse Felix West Chicago Park District
   Steve Tinnes West Chicago Park District
   John Karesh Woodridge Park District

Matt announced the OUTSTANDING PARK EMPLOYEE recipients.
   Byron Wright Palatine Park District
   Ken McEwen West Chicago Park Dsitrict
   John Driscoll Schaumburg Park District

Matt announced the recipient of the RALPH VORIS COMMUNITY AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICE AWARD. The recipient will receive a $300.00 scholarship to attend the Great Lakes Park Training Institute.

OUTSTANDING ASSOCIATE AWARD:
   Whitey Anderson

MIPE PARK PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR:
   Jesse Felix West Chicago Park District.

John Barrett announced his selection for the 2010 PRESIDENT'S AWARD:
   Rich Blust Retired
   Marv Wolf Retired
   
ELECTION RESULTS: Keith Neitzke announced the results of the elections.  This year's officers and board are:
   President:     John Gacki
   President-Elect:    Matt Gaynor
   Secretary/Treasurer:     Eric Lacher
   Past President:     John Barrett
   Board Members:     Mike Fletcher
                               Mat Emken
                               Jennifer Knitter
                               Dan Caraher

John Gacki took over at this time. John Gacki  then presented John Barrett with a plaque of appreciation.
   
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Dan Otto spoke about Pokagon Feb 28 thru March 3.

Marv announced that there would be a social in conjunction with the PNRMS meeting a state conference on Thursday around 6:00.  This will be held in John’s suite.

The fund raiser was held.

Jenny Knitter talked about next month’s meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:28 P.M.
